Our Volleyball team is headed to STATE!!
The first game is tomorrow at 9 am at the Crossplex in Birmingham.
Since today is also "Decades Day," the team wore throwback jerseys. No matter the decade, our Tigers are the best!!
Amy Zheng and Isabella Griffin, seniors at T. R. Miller High School, have been named Semifinalists for the 2024 class of the Coca-Cola Scholars Program. Only 20 students from the state of Alabama were selected as Semifinalists. 1,514 high school seniors were selected as Semifinalists from a pool of over 103,800 submitted applications from across the country based on their academic excellence, leadership, and service demonstrated in school and community activities.

Miller High School Seniors received hands-on assistance applying to college during the school's Alabama College Application Week Campaign event held on October16-20, 2023. EVERY Senior at T. R. Miller High School participated in the event submitting at least one application and most submitted multiple applications during the event.

Tomorrow we will welcome over 1500 band students in addition to parents and spectators to our Dixieland Band Festival! We are thrilled to host this amazing event. As such, the circle drive at the front of the school as well as the small lots attached to it will be closed all weekend.

Homecoming 2023 will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 20. All BCS will dismiss at 1 p.m. Pre-K classes will dismiss at 12:30 while Kindergarten will dismiss at 12:45.

We need you in your seats and ready to go by 8.
Here are a few pointers:
1. Eat breakfast. It will help you concentrate.
2. Do not bring anything to your testing room except a calculator. No purses, binders, books, book bags, or electronic devices (including cell phones and Smart watches).
3. Do your best. We use these scores as the the baseline for growth.
TRM will host the Area Volleyball Tournament this Tuesday, October 17.
Jackson plays Escambia County at 4 pm. TRM plays the winner at 5:30.
Ticket prices are set by the AHSAA.

Report Cards showing grades for the 1st 9 weeks grading period will go home with students on Friday, October 13.
Monday, October 16, is Parent Contact Day at TRM!! Teachers will be available to meet with parents from 10 am until 6 pm. Parents and guardians may call the school office at (251) 867-8430 or email teachers directly to make appointments to meet with teachers.
We will also have a technician available from 10 am until 12 noon for any parent who needs help with the PowerSchools parent portal.

Monday, Oct. 16 will be Report Card Day for BCS. This will be a Teacher Work Day and No School for Students. The schools will be open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Parents: Today, TRM officials became aware of a potential situation outside or near the Subway parking lot. Out of an abundance of caution, the school went into "Shelter in Place" mode until our School Resource Officer assessed the situation. The entire situation lasted about 10 minutes, and then students resumed their daily activities.
Brewton City Schools will be closed tomorrow for Labor Day
